Type for Deficiencies

A weakness in a body is called a deficiency.

There are many classes of herbs. Here, we will talk about herbs for treating deficiencies. In Western medicine, if a medicine can cure a person of a sickness, it will be good for everyone with the same sickness. However, the traditional Chinese medicine maintained that the body can be cured or strengthened only in accordance with the nature of its weaknesses. That is the reason why some people could be cure of an illness but to another person with the same problem, could not. For the Chinese, the right combination of herbs for the person is needed.

There are typically four types of deficiencies.

1. Energy deficiency
Cause: Low energy due to poor functioning of organs.
Symptoms: Shortness of breath, asthma, fatigue, low body weight, poor appetite, indigestion, diarrhea, abdominal swelling, puffiness, prolapse of the uterus, anus and of the stomach.

2. Blood deficiency
Cause: Shortage or poor quality blood due to bleeding or poor absorption of nutrient.
Symptoms: Palpitations, forgetfulness, insomnia, headaches, dizziness, opisthotonos, ringing in the ears, irregular menstruation, muscular twitching, diabetes and night sweats.

3. Yin deficiency
Cause: Lacking body fluids derive from excessive sex or chronic illness or frequent birth child.
Symptoms: Easily gets tired, chronic cough, night sweats, seminal emission, hoarseness, constant thirst, a chronic sore throat, a dry cough, excessive perspiration, lumbago, diabetes, ringing in the ears and blurred vision.

4. Yang deficiency
Cause: Lacking Yang energy (warm) in the kidneys caused by chronic illness or excessive sex.
Symptoms: Lumbago, cold limbs, frequent urination, impotence, sminal emission, chronic diarrhea, abduominal pain, infertility and blurred vision.
